Meet the Team: Kathryn Bonner, Account Manager

Our ‘Meet the Team’ series takes an inside look into the lives of our student marketing experts. From their career journey so far, to their go-to student meal, get to know Raptor HQ!

How long have you worked at Raptor?:
Nearly 2 years

What is your career story so far?:
I’ve worked in experiential marketing since I was about 17, and very much started at the bottom as a brand ambassador, dressing up in embarrassing costumes, then became an EM, a campaign exec and then moved into PR for a few years in Leeds. I made the long overdue move to London in summer 2019 and joined the Raptor team!

What is your role and what are you responsible for?:
I’m an Account Manager and have worked with clients such as Now TV, HelloFresh and Nando’s. My role varies from day to day but largely includes campaign planning, managing a team of ambassadors, keeping an eye on budgets and when Covid isn’t about, planning live events up and down the country!

What is the best part of your role?:
I love being able to really get to know a brand and how they work – there’s nothing better than seeing a campaign right the way through from coming up with creative ideas, pitching and then seeing it all come to life… it’s hugely rewarding!

What is your dream brand to work with?:
I’m am bit of a saddo and I’m obsessed with IKEA, so it would have to be them!

What is your wildest moment from your days as a student?:
I drunkenly booked a flight back to Manchester for a night out when I was in France on my year abroad. I was in the UK for a few hours and then flew back… but ended up in Switzerland

What was your go-to student meal?:
I’m from Yorkshire so it was cheesy chips and gravy at least 4 times a week, which doesn’t seem to exist in London!?

What series are you currently binging on?:
Lockdown has brought me hours of binging, so far my faves have been Succession and I May Destroy You.

What is your secret talent?:
I don’t really have any noteworthy talents, but I’ve had hiccups for over a decade, which people usually find quite shocking!

Describe working at Raptor in three words:
Varied, fun and creative!
